We are actively seeking a detail-oriented
Construction Estimator
to support our growing commercial construction team in the Chicago area. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, analyzing project documents, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Review architectural drawings, specifications, scopes, and project documents to develop complete and accurate estimates.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment.
Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure comprehensive and competitive bids.
Prepare proposal packages, bid summaries, and all supporting documentation.
Partner with project managers and leadership during preconstruction to identify risks, value-engineering options, and cost-saving opportunities.
Assist in preparing budgets, preliminary schedules, and bid strategies for upcoming projects.
Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing records.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Construction Estimator within commercial construction.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and general industry standards.
Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and technical documents.
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
