The Vice President of Finance is a hands‑on executive responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of the company’s financial operations. Leading a small accounting team, this role requires direct involvement in daily accounting activities while also guiding financial strategy, reporting, and compliance. oversight of HR and IT
functions and plays a critical role in
collaboration with Manufacturing and Sales
to drive efficiency, profitability, and growth across the organization. This position reports directly to the President and provides financial leadership across our multi‑plant operations in the United States and Canada.
Finance, Accounting & Reporting
Oversee all accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, internal controls, and periodic closings.
Prepare and present monthly financial statements, providing analysis and financial insight to support executive decision‑making.
Lead year‑end audits with external auditors.
Manage tax reporting and compliance, including coordination with external tax advisors.
Monitor cash flow and working capital, optimizing the use of financial resources.
Collaboration with Manufacturing
Partner with manufacturing leadership to track production costs and efficiency, developing reporting tools to identify cost‑saving opportunities and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
Evaluate capital investment proposals, providing financial analysis of prospective equipment purchases, plant expansions, and process improvements and ensuring ROI and alignment with company strategy.
Collaboration with Sales
Work closely with sales leadership to evaluate pricing strategies and profitability, developing financial models to assess pricing policy and margin impacts.
Provide reporting on customer profitability and product line performance.
Support sales leadership in developing revenue growth strategies and market expansion plans.
Oversight of HR
Partner with the HR Manager to align payroll, benefits, and compensation with financial goals.
Support workforce planning, headcount budgeting, and employee cost analysis.
Provide financial perspective on compensation structures and incentive programs.
Oversight of IT
Collaborate with the IT Manager to ensure systems and technology investments align with operational and financial strategy.
Oversee budgeting for IT infrastructure, software, and cybersecurity initiatives.
Support ERP/accounting system improvements and integrations.
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, providing guidance and support.
Roll up sleeves to assist with transactional work when needed.
Build scalable processes and systems to support future growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
8+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including hands‑on accounting work.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance.
Experience in manufacturing cost accounting and sales/pricing analysis a plus.
Familiarity with HR and IT operations, with ability to oversee managers in both areas.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to work cross‑functionally across multiple plants.
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel/financial modeling. Experience with Syteline ERP a plus.
