Overview
Fixed Income Portfolio Analyst
– Wellington Management Company, LLP – Boston, MA. We are hiring a portfolio analyst to support the Financial Reserves Management Team and help manage client fixed‑income portfolios. The role is based in Boston and works closely with portfolio managers, traders, and other business units to execute investment strategies, monitor performance, and manage operational risk.
Responsibilities
Interact closely with portfolio managers and traders to ensure timely and accurate execution of investment strategies across client portfolios. Rebalance portfolios in response to investment strategies, cash flows, benchmark changes, market price movements and changes in client guidelines. Monitor positions and verify that transactions are consistent with client guidelines. Collaborate with many areas of the firm to improve processes and minimize operational risks. Monitor performance, risk exposures and key market sensitivities of positions in portfolios.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in the asset management industry. Strong understanding of fixed‑income capital markets and investing, with a quantitative mindset. Proficient programming skills (Python, MatLab/R) preferred. Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks and think creatively to initiate projects that improve strategy implementation. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with investment and other business professionals. Undergraduate degree required; post‑graduate degree or CFA (or progress towards one) viewed favorably.
Compensation
Base salary range: USD 80,000 – 150,000. The total compensation approach includes a competitive salary, variable compensation, discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
