What You Will Do We are searching for a Health Scientist. This role will serve as an expert responsible for providing technical leadership and direction to HIV research with specific assistance to shift the NIH HIV AIDS portfolios to focus on implementation science. The Health Scientist will be responsible for formulating, planning, recommending, and evaluating broad NIH-wide or trans-Institute program objectives, policies, and activities. This is a full-time remote opportunity supporting the office in Rockville, MD.

Identify gaps in existing scientific knowledge and provide recommendations for future research efforts.

Analyze the scientific merit and the adequacy of current and projected research programs.

Review short- and long-range planning proposals to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and mission.

Analyze program activities to identify issues and develop recommendations for improvement.

Plan, develop and implement immediate and long-range goals and objectives designed to strengthen and enhance the success of the research program.

What You Will Need

Minimum education required: Master's Degree

A minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in HIV research or similar research.

Measurement and tolls that assess and design scientific studies.

Ability to communicate science both orally and in writing.

Experience with Socio-Behavioral and Implementation Science.

Knowledge of NIH grants and funding mechanism.

Familiarity with coding and classification of grants.

What Would Be Nice To Have

Prior experience with NIH or HHS agencies preferred

A Master’s Degree in General Social Sciences, Miscellaneous Social Sciences, or Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.

The annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00-$124,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
