Base pay range : $80,783.00/yr - $103,333.00/yr (Actual pay based on skills and experience)
The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Archivist to join our passionate Public Arts Team.
This role is your chance to be part of the Public Art dream team that stewards D.C. Government’s collection of murals, sculptures, and installations. You will manage public art documents, fine art objects, images, and digital assets related to the city's public artworks.
Primary responsibilities include:
Organizing and maintaining portable and exterior public art works, the Art Bank Loan Program, and related records.
Planning and implementing the cleaning, conservation, and maintenance efforts for DC’s public art collection with an emphasis on exterior works (experience in conservation a plus!).
Developing and managing systems to ensure the collection is accessible, cared for, and well-maintained.
Working closely with our curator, Archivist (Registrar), project managers, and administrators to document and manage current and past projects.
We’re looking for someone with:
Hands‑on experience in archival materials, exterior public art, records management, and digital asset management.
Proficiency with archival databases and digitization technologies (experience with The Museum System/TMS a plus).
Deep experience and appreciation for public art and cultural heritage.
