Job Summary
The Head Coach will help create a healthier, happier world by facilitating a seamless fitness experience for both clients and coaches. The Head Coach will be focused on member retention, client acquisition, and supporting the club's Fitness Coach Team. The role will spend an estimated 60% of time in personal training sessions and 40% onboarding, training, and supporting coaches within the club. This is a full‑time position with an expected minimum of 30+ working hours per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design and deliver comprehensive fitness programs based on clients' goals, including appropriate exercise selections, varied fitness offerings, and general nutrition guidelines.
Mentor coach performance through observation and training.
Support onboarding and training of new coaches.
Assist the General Manager in interviewing and hiring coaches.
Provide input to the GM on fitness goal setting, scheduling, and coach performance.
Build and generate a strong fitness business through new client acquisition and retention.
Hold clients accountable to their programs through goal setting, follow‑up discussions, and progress tracking.
Demonstrate safe and proper exercise techniques to clients.
Arrive on time, prepared, and enthusiastic while attending every training appointment or group session.
Meet minimum productivity expectations servicing clients and group sessions.
Create, maintain, and regularly update progress for each personal training client following company guidelines.
Assist in member service activities such as fitness seminars, training days, and deliver a positive fitness experience to members and guests through custom coaching sessions.
Support the Service Promise of Clean, Friendly and Well‑Maintained Club by maintaining a clean and organized club.
Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
2-5 years of experience as a Personal Trainer or Fitness Coach.
Holistic fitness program design and consultation experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work 30+ hours weekly, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Ability to adjust and operate fitness equipment.
Capacity to perform a variety of exercise routines.
Excellent customer service skills, responding professionally to requests from guests, members, and staff.
High School Diploma or GED required.
CPR and AED certifications received through in‑person training.
Degree in a related field or current certification through at least one nationally accredited industry association.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Specialized fitness credentials preferred.
Prior experience as a lead or manager on duty within a fitness organization.
Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Physical effort required for daily duties including lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, jumping, kicking, prolonged standing, and walking.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
Occasional loud noise levels.
Travel Requirement
Limited (less than 5%) travel by car to trainings or meetings at other club locations.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $20.00.
