Senior Cyber Systems Engineer

to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you’ll be part of a high‑performing team building innovative solutions that

automate complex, manual cyber tasks , allowing mission customers to focus on the challenges that matter most. You’ll work in an

Agile, DevOps‑driven environment

delivering secure, high‑quality software to mission partners. This position is based in a contractor facility offering

flexible work schedules , with

based on tasking and customer approval.

What You Do

Analyze user needs and translate them into clear, actionable system requirements

Develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS), system architectures, and System Requirements Specifications (SRS)

Partner with users and stakeholders to refine requirements, evaluate alternatives, and conduct feasibility studies

Provide technical leadership across the full systems engineering life cycle

Guide system development, integration, and implementation planning, including SEMPs and integration & test plans

Collaborate directly with government customers on systems engineering decisions, risks, and trade‑offs

Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams, program leadership, government stakeholders, and senior executives

What You Bring

Proven experience planning and leading systems engineering efforts on complex programs

Expertise designing and implementing comprehensive SOA‑based solutions

Strong background in end‑to‑end system trade studies to balance performance, cost, risk, and lifecycle considerations

Experience managing system configuration (hardware, software, and documentation) throughout the system lifecycle

Ability to develop design alternatives that account for lifecycle cost, reuse, scalability, complexity, and growth

Deep understanding of agency, national, and international standards relevant to system development

Skill in evaluating options and recommending optimal solutions using well‑defined selection criteria

Experience defining software interfaces, including data flow, stimuli, sources, and destinations

Background planning and integrating secure, compliant systems aligned with legal, policy, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications Required Qualifications

17+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, complexity, and mission impact

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline

Five (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a degree

Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

Experience defining performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid‑to‑large scale systems

Proven ability to lead or support Agile development environments

Hands‑on experience integrating COTS and GOTS solutions from multiple vendors

Experience designing or deploying storage solutions in clustered or cloud‑based environments

Familiarity with Kibana, JSON, and XML

Details Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
