Sr. IT Engineer
Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting‑edge cloud‑based integration, automated testing and data analysis for complex, mission‑critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), seeks a Sr. IT Engineer based in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Leveraging advanced software automation, model‑based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI‑driven capabilities, IDT accelerates capability development, enhances operational readiness, and reduces lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense.
Overview Join the Information Systems team to deploy and maintain Linux and Windows computing systems supporting virtualized testing of Naval tactical systems. The role requires up to 25% travel to U.S. and occasional international customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot on‑prem virtual compute infrastructure in a classified environment.
Travel to customer sites for deployment and event support (up to 25%).
Interact with technical members across multiple organizations.
Support land‑based and “underway” test events across the U.S.
Develop design documentation for customers.
Provide end‑user training and support.
Test and deploy combat systems on virtual platforms.
Develop processes to improve customer support and team efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in operating systems, virtualization, and networking.
Active U.S. Security Clearance required.
Required Skills
Extensive experience administering Microsoft Windows and multiple Linux distributions.
Proficient with VMware or similar virtualization infrastructure.
Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VLANs, firewalls).
Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker.
Agile work environment adaptability.
Travel availability to customer sites (land and sea).
Preferred Skills
Automation scripting and tools (Python, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
Understanding of 802.11, TCP, UDP, ICMP protocols.
Experience with STIG compliance.
Experience with various Naval systems.
Pay Range $135,000 – $231,000 (base salary). Additional compensation may include bonuses, commissions, or benefits. Pay is commensurate with experience.
