Senior Software Engineer (Machine Learning) This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning in Illinois. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will play a critical role in advancing clinical AI technologies, supporting rapid model experimentation, and integrating ML solutions into production systems. The role is fully remote within the US and offers the opportunity to optimize machine learning pipelines, improve system reliability, and contribute to innovative healthcare solutions.

Accountabilities

Deploy, maintain, and monitor machine learning models and pipelines in production environments.

Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and application teams to integrate ML models into broader systems.

Develop and maintain MLOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for ML workflows.

Optimize model performance, scalability, and efficiency to ensure reliable system operation.

Contribute to the design and architecture of machine learning systems and infrastructure.

Build internal tools that improve the productivity and workflow of the data science team.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or MLOps roles.

Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Hands‑on experience deploying and managing ML models in production, including Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.

Knowledge of CI/CD best practices for ML and infrastructure automation.

Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and ML services.

Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Terraform, CDK) and configuration management.

Strong understanding of data engineering principles and scalable system design.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a problem‑solving mindset.

Preferred: experience with LLM deployments, healthcare domain experience, contributions to open‑source ML projects.
