What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Architect, develop, and implement key backend game systems, features, and services
Design and maintain scalable and secure backend services, including player data persistence and matchmaking
Collaborate with project engineering teams to produce high-quality, low-latency code
Perform peer code reviews and uphold a high standard of code excellence
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on new features
What is Required (Qualifications)
5+ years of professional software engineering experience on cross-functional teams
Experience with at least one successfully published large-scale multiplayer online game title
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Strong knowledge of server architecture, cloud computing, and microservices
Proficient experience with Unreal Engine's network/multiplayer features
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Passion for online multiplayer RPGs and experience with online games
Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and live game deployment strategies
Knowledge of anti-cheat solutions and game security best practices
Understanding of performance analysis and optimizations
Familiarity with Unreal’s newest replication system, Iris
