Job Summary FreeWheel is looking for passionate Software Engineers to design, build, and support our innovative video advertising platform. This virtual position supports the television industry by monetizing premium content across PCs, smartphones, OTT devices, set‑top boxes, and traditional TV.

Job Description Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or above. 2+ years relevant work experience with C++.

Development

Own features through the complete software development lifecycle (design, prototype, implementation, testing, maintenance, technical support).

Produce technical specifications and determine operational feasibility.

Write well‑designed, testable, efficient code.

Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.

Document and maintain software functionality.

Tailor and deploy engineering tools, processes, and metrics.

Support

Support overall business.

Technically solve issues.

Cooperation

Partner with global engineering, product, and operations teams to further incorporate collective innovations.

Technical Skills

Experience with C/C++, DB design, and network programming.

Experience with large system software design and development.

Experience with distributed systems and mission‑critical systems is a plus.

Advertising industry experience is a plus.

Demonstrated expertise in problem‑solving and technical innovation.

Strong passion for learning/practicing new techniques.

Knowledgeable about SDLC, Agile, and Software Engineering Methodology.

Team working skills, good communication skills, willingness to work under pressure.

Have the ability and persistence in technical support.

Ability to work closely with global teams and accept additional working time besides normal working hours to meet or co‑work with global teams.

Core Responsibilities

Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements.

Design new software and web applications, support applications under development, and customize current applications.

Assist with the software update process for existing applications and roll‑outs of software releases.

Participate in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.

Research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports.

Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products.

Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques.

Serve as a guide and mentor for junior‑level Software Development Engineers.

Work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.

Display in‑depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills, and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.

Display knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.

Display knowledge of and ability to apply project management skills.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
