Staff Engineer – Monterey Office

We look for a proactive engineer ready to grow into a Project Engineer role while working alongside experienced professionals. Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Work
Perform engineering analyses, design calculations, and prepare drawings, specifications, and technical documents for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Develop portions of project designs with guidance, including layouts, equipment selection, and cost estimating. Prepare sections of design reports, technical memoranda, and permitting documentation. Project Support
Support Project Engineers and Project Managers with planning, design, and construction support activities. Manage well‑defined work packages or small project components, coordinating with internal disciplines and subconsultants. Assist with task‑level budgeting, scheduling, and tracking deliverables. Construction Support
Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observation activities. Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs under direction from senior technical staff. Coordination & Documentation
Compile and interpret data, perform QA/QC checks, and support the development of engineering documents and presentations. Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure alignment with design intent. Qualifications
BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field. Experience in planning, design, or analysis of water, wastewater, or municipal infrastructure projects. Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification required; progress toward PE licensure preferred. Working knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and standard engineering software. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively. Design experience is preferred. Seniority level

Salary range
for this position is anticipated to be $90,000–$110,000, and may vary based on education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location. Benefits Summary
