Position : Sr. Cloud Security and Delivery SME
Location : Washington, D.C. (Onsite 1 day per week)
Base Pay Range : $75.00/hr – $85.00/hr
Summary : The SME will design and oversee the implementation of security solutions to protect cloud-hosted operating environments using Zero Trust and defense‑in‑depth strategies. The SME will conduct Cloud Application Assessments of the ITD Technology Stack, provide technical guidance to secure the cloud architecture for supported CSPs, and advise on emerging cloud technologies such as AI, IoT, RPA, blockchain, and quantum computing.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic guidance, oversight, and leadership for the organization’s security and Zero Trust architecture.
Develop cloud security solutions and architecture aligned to Zero Trust principles.
Lead and oversee security and Zero Trust architectural design.
Provide technical leadership and oversight to implement security and Zero Trust initiatives.
Develop cloud security architecture roadmaps and strategy.
Support cloud deployments (private, hybrid, on‑premise virtualization).
Design cloud security event visibility and telemetry.
Design and oversee identity credential and access management (ICAM) technologies.
Determine network security requirements and controls.
Apply network segmentation and defense‑in‑depth to security architecture.
Incorporate OT/IoT security requirements and controls into security architecture.
Develop scope, cost estimates, and implementation schedules for cloud deployments of security tools.
Evaluate new security products and solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
10+ years of experience providing technical leadership around architecture, cybersecurity, and deployment strategies in hyperscaler cloud platforms.
5+ years as a technical service delivery manager for complex high‑FIPS or high‑value asset systems.
Professional certifications on a hyperscaler cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or advanced cloud specialty certification.
Expertise in Zero Trust solutions and architecture.
Expertise in micro‑segmentation, VPC/VNet, and SD‑LANs.
Expertise in cloud deployment automation and templates.
Expert knowledge of SASE and CASB technologies.
Expert knowledge of firewalls, web application security, IDS/IPS, SIEM, centralized logging/auditing, EDR, and web application security.
Other Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
