Brief Description Responsible for the care of patients at all clinical sites and programs as assigned by their supervisor. Responsible for ensuring the care of their patients meets the organization’s productivity goals, quality performance measures, regulatory compliance, training needs, and research initiatives.
Requirements
Maintaining an active medical practice of TBD clinical sessions weekly
Demonstrates competency in following areas
Medical Knowledge
Demonstrates good fundamental knowledge of established clinical practice and use of Evidence Based Medicine
Demonstrates sound clinical judgment
Demonstrated appropriate use of consults
Keeps current with the medical literature
Clinical Practice
Provides compassionate, appropriate and effective patient care
Available to patients and staff
Maintains good quality medical records
Demonstrates good clinical/technical skills
Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
Establishes and maintains professional, courteous, and respectful relationships with patients, families, colleagues and other members of the health care team
Demonstrates an understanding and sensitivity to diversity and a responsible attitude towards his/her patients, profession and society.
Professionalism
Demonstrates to continuous professional development (CME), and ethical practice.
Fulfils CME requirement (50 hours CME/2 year)
Timely Medical Record Completion
Compliance with open encounter policy
Timely response to MyChart (patient portal) requests
Compliance with IFH Policy and Regulations
Attends clinical site and program meetings as required
Assists with sites peer review process
Participates in sites CQI endeavors/projects
Systems-Based Practice:
Demonstrates an understanding of health care systems and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve and optimize health care.
Advocates for quality of care on behalf of patients and the organization
Demonstrates appropriate use of health systems resources
Practical-Based Learning and Improvements:
Uses scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate and improve patient care
Demonstrates acceptable use of organizations best practice alerts, quality improvement initiatives, use of clinical registries, core measures compliance, and use of EBM
Demonstrates knowledge of CQI activities at IFH
Teaching And Training
Precept’s residents, medical students, and other health professional trainees as appropriate
Participation in Residency Faculty Meetings as appropriate
B. Organizational/Managerial
Is punctual and maintains a satisfactory attendance record.
Is appropriately attired for the office
Demonstrates reliability and trustworthiness.
Effective in taking action without being told (takes initiative)
Manages time and other resources to meet established goals within the agreed upon time frames.
Demonstrates flexibility in the acceptance and completion of work assignments.
Participates in the Organizations performance improvement activities.
Observes the Policies and Procedures of IUFH.
Contributes to a cooperative, friendly and mutually supportive work environment: a Team player.
