Job Summary
ModeX Therapeutics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Director with experience in immuno-oncology/immunology to support the development and progression of new immune therapies. The successful candidate will work with ModeX's team to test novel biologic drug candidates, delineate their mechanism of action, and address biological questions. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cross‑functional team and contribute to the development of next‑generation therapeutics in a fast‑paced, rapidly growing biotech company with a bold vision. Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and scientific leadership for early‑stage discovery programs in Immuno‑Oncology and Immunology & Inflammation, from target identification and validation through lead optimization and IND‑enabling studies. Identify, validate, and advance novel therapeutic targets and mechanisms that align with the company's pipeline strategy. Design and implement research strategies that drive innovation and support therapeutic area and corporate objectives. Lead and mentor a team of scientists and research associates, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing, and collaborative culture. Oversee in vitro and in vivo studies to characterize immune pathways, assess target engagement and pharmacology, and generate translational data supporting IND‑enabling activities. Ensure scientific rigor and innovation in experimental design, data interpretation, and decision‑making at key program milestones. Qualifications
Ph.D. in Immunology, Immuno‑Oncology, or a related discipline. 8‑10+ years of relevant research experience, including at least 5 years in a biotech or pharmaceutical R&D environment. Extensive expertise in Immuno‑Oncology and Immunology/Inflammation (I&I) disease biology, supported by a demonstrated track record of advancing therapeutic programs and a strong scientific publication record. Proven leadership in early‑stage drug discovery, including target identification and validation, in vivo/ex vivo pharmacology, and IND‑enabling studies. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing scientific teams in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary, matrixed teams. Demonstrated ability to think strategically, adapt to change, and drive innovation in a dynamic research environment. Seniority Level
