The General Manager of operations is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operation, compliance and financial results for a designated operation. The GM serves as the primary customer interface for all leadership decisions regarding proposal approval and contract negotiations and champions local continuous improvement activities, LEAN practices, supply‑chain analysis, Six Sigma initiatives and ISO activities. The GM also develops marketing plans and assists in growing new business while ensuring the operation adheres to the overall corporate mission, vision and core values and consistently meets client and company expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure systems and procedures are in place for managing operations, equipment and products safely and profitably, in compliance with company policies. Lead operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals, complying with the site operating agreement with the client. Set goals to drive continuous improvement efforts. Develop and maintain productive business relationships with vendors, suppliers and partners; implement OSHA and all applicable Federal and State compliance requirements. Assist in setting client‑appropriate standards. Develop and manage control systems to meet service level and performance goals within cost, revenue and profit parameters. Partner with senior leadership to develop and recommend the annual operating budget. Ensure overall safety and security of the operation. Build a team to achieve company and client objectives. Support mentoring, succession planning and management development activities at the site level. Communicate mission, vision and core values to motivate direct reports. Management Information Systems
Proactively develop plans and capital requests to ensure appropriate levels of automation/technology to service clients. Ensure necessary software and hardware are purchased in accordance with Corporate IT policies and remain knowledgeable about technology changes. Customer Management
Act as site‑level champion of client relationship management. Provide required operational and administrative support, maintain contact with all functions and respond to client requests. Coordinate business reviews with client and company representatives to promote a positive relationship. Marketing & Sales
Assist Director and other resources in planning new account strategies, prospecting for new opportunities and developing quoting rates. Budgeting / Financials
Develop the annual operating budget and manage control systems to ensure service levels and performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue and profit parameters. Ensure budgeting and pricing activities comply with contract guidelines and maintain contract pricing in a multi‑client environment. Equipment & Facilities
Manage programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety and equipment, including material handling equipment (MHE). Ensure MHE training and recommend new technology when applicable. Safety
Achieve company safety metrics (IFR and others) by establishing a proactive culture. Audit warehouses for compliance with safety, security and quality principles and ensure all statutory requirements are met. Other Duties
Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary. Perform other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 7 years of experience in logistics/distribution/supply‑chain environment. 5 years of leadership experience in logistics/distribution/supply‑chain. Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Demonstrated proficiency with applicable WMS systems. Language Skills
English (reading, writing, speaking). Business communication proficiency at all levels. Other
Strong attention to detail and timely completion of tasks. Good organizational and personnel skills. Excellent written and oral communication. Good leadership, supervision and planning skills. Advance level expertise in accounting/financial math for P&L and budgeting. Self‑motivated and capable of managing complex environments. Adaptable to change in fast‑paced environments. Effective relationship building, leadership integration and unifying objectives. Physical Demands
Occasionally: Handling/Fingering, sitting. Frequently: Bending. Constantly: Walking and standing. Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 21‑50 pounds. Tasks may include reaching above shoulder, reaching outward, squatting or kneeling. Work Environment
