General Manager – Forney Coating

Job Overview As General Manager, you will oversee the operations of our coating plant, ensuring safe and efficient production and adherence to quality standards. You will be responsible for managing a team of production staff, implementing process improvements, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management – Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies; supervise and coordinate daily activities to meet production goals and KPIs; monitor production schedules and adjust workflow to optimize productivity.>\ Quality Assurance – Implement quality control measures; conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement; address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership – Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production staff, including training and performance management; foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.

Process Improvement – Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements; implement new technologies or methodologies; collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on equipment upgrades and maintenance schedules.

Budget and Cost Control – Manage operational expenses within budgetary constraints; monitor material usage and waste to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.

Reporting and Documentation – Prepare regular reports on production metrics, quality performance, and operational efficiencies; maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).

Proven experience (5+ years) in a manufacturing or production management role, preferably in extrusion coating or similar industries.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Solid understanding of ISO quality management systems and regulatory requirements.

Proficiency in MS Office suite and ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.

Experience with continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S).

In-depth knowledge of extrusion coating processes, equipment, and materials.
