Responsibilities
Architect and develop software for an advanced, production‑scale metal 3D printing system
Work with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and physicists to integrate control algorithms into production software
Improve and scale out petabyte‑scale, high‑rate telemetry, storage, and retrieval systems
Use computer science and engineering fundamentals to solve notoriously challenging algorithmic and optimization problems
Develop high‑performance compute solutions using GPU parallel processing
Move fast, innovate, don’t over‑engineer things, be a good teammate, be flexible and open to new ideas, and push the bounds of what’s possible
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in software development
Proficiency in a systems level programming language such as C++, Go, or Rust
Experience with high‑performance systems software such as high‑volume telemetry systems, hardware control systems, real‑time embedded Linux, or similar
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or computer engineering
10+ years of professional software development experience
Experience building out backend infrastructure, high‑performance storage solutions, streaming processing systems, scientific analysis pipelines and workflows
Experience writing software for industrial automation systems, robotics, or related hardware
Experience with operations systems, computer architecture, or similar computer systems internals
Experience with computer graphics or similar geometry‑intensive problems
Experience operating as a technical lead, driving architectural decisions and mentoring junior engineers
Location Hawthorne, CA – 35,000 square foot, state‑of‑the‑art facility featuring large open spaces for team collaboration, R&D, and production, as well as easy access to the 405, 105, and 110 freeways. Our facility is in the heart of Los Angeles' vibrant emerging tech ecosystem alongside many other high‑growth startups and enterprises.
