Join Auger — Where Innovation Meets Real-World Impact

Imagine a place where you get the best of both worlds: the speed and energy of a startup, and the experience of leaders who’ve built systems that scale globally. Auger is redefining global supply chains with a $100M investment led by Oak HC/FT.

About the Team & Role The AI Economics Team at Auger is building an AI-powered market intelligence system that enables our customers to forecast supply chain risk, optimize sourcing decisions, and respond to global disruptions in real time. We are hiring a Technical Product Manager to drive organization, technical strategy, and engineering execution across this initiative.

Responsibilities

Act as the bridge between scientists (economists, ML scientists, forecasting specialists) and engineering and data teams, translating scientific requirements into engineering tasks.

Own the product roadmap across a suite of science-and-economics-driven products, managing dependencies between squads and ensuring shipped solutions solve real customer problems.

Spend significant time in the details—data schemas, service dependencies, integration points—to prevent cross-team misalignment and delays.

Write detailed technical specifications, review API contracts, and present updated roadmaps to leadership.

Operate with limited resources, shifting priorities, and incomplete information, making decisions with 70% confidence and maintaining momentum without waiting for perfect clarity.

Required Skills

7+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years on data-intensive or ML-adjacent products.

Experience translating analytical or scientific requirements into engineering tasks, turning research into shipped software.

Success shipping a data analytics or ML product to market.

Understanding of data infrastructure concepts: ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, feature stores, API design.

Track record managing complex cross-functional projects with multiple dependencies and competing priorities.

Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to tailor technical content for engineers, scientists, and business stakeholders.

Experience with agile development practices and cross-functional team coordination.

Passion for using AI to speed and improve work and workflow processes.

Preferred Skills

Experience working with external data vendors: evaluation, integration, and managing data quality issues.

Exposure to enterprise B2B products, particularly in procurement, logistics, supply chain, or sustainability.

Familiarity with ML productionization: understanding how models move from research notebooks to production services.

Background in a quantitative field (economics, engineering, operations research) or experience working closely with economists or quantitative researchers.

Technical fluency: ability to read and discuss system architecture diagrams, API specifications, data models, and pipeline designs with engineers.

Startup experience; comfort with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and wearing multiple hats.

Familiarity with ERP systems, trade compliance, or supply chain software.

Benefits

Highly competitive total compensation packages.

Top tier medical, dental, and vision insurance and wellness perks.

401(k) with Company match.

Work with teammates tackling complex and consequential challenges with resilience, determination, and good humor.

Base pay range for this role is $200,000 – $250,000 per year. Eligible full‑time employees may also receive equity and bonuses.
