Dark Wolf Solutions is looking for an
Engineering Team Lead
with a
Secret security clearance
to provide expertise and administration to a classified lab supporting a Navy Software Factory. The successful candidate will collaborate with the DevOps and Cybersecurity teams to deliver reliable products and services, maintain them and assist the cybersecurity team with maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO) for the systems and networks. This position is located in the Discovery District of The University of Maryland’s campus.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy and maintain critical services supporting both on-prem and cloud-native architecture
Work with the Cybersecurity team by implementing industry and government best practices for system hardening and configuration management
Incorporate Cybersecurity best practices and methodologies into repeatable, scalable environments within a Navy ecosystem
Use automation best practices, such as IaC and GitOps, for repeatability and fast provisioning of environments
Deploy and maintain Kubernetes platforms in multiple environments and classification levels
Mentor staff, provide guidance and direction
Ensure platform and networks are compliant with DoD policies
Required Qualifications
5+ years experience leading IT Operation teams of at least three individuals, providing leadership and technical oversight
3+ years experience administering on-premise Linux systems (e.g. RHEL, Ubuntu) using automation such as Bash scripting, Ansible, and Terraform.
Demonstrated experience with NIST Special Publication 800-190
Demonstrated experience with Zero Trust Architectures (e.g. Beyond Corp/AppGate/Software Defined Perimeter)
Comfortable with traditional developer‑centric tools such as version control systems, artifact repositories, log aggregation servers, etc.
Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, and containerization
HS Diploma
US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance required
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience with deploying and maintaining CNCF products to on‑prem and cloud environments
Demonstrated hands‑on experience with Kubernetes with one or more Kubernetes variants
Experience with providing Identity Management services including SSO using OpenID Connect (OIDC) or SAML
Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines on cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience in administering classified networks (LAN, WAN, etc.)
This position requires hands‑on engineering with Kubernetes. Candidates without demonstrated hands‑on experience must obtain the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification within 90 days of their start date.
This location is in College Park, MD with a part‑time remote option. On‑site presence is expected 3 days per week with the option of 2 days of remote work. The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000.00 – $185,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical interview.
