This client is a large, established robotics manufacturer supporting advanced programs across the semiconductor and aerospace & defense industries, with a strong focus on intelligent automation and dual‑use robotics platforms.
Role Overview This role focuses on designing, building, and programming advanced robotic systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components to automate complex real‑world tasks. You will optimize motion planning, perception, and control for manufacturing, defense, and logistics applications, working closely with cross‑functional teams to prototype, test, and deploy intelligent robotic solutions.
The position has a strong emphasis on Vision‑Language‑Action (VLA) models and bi‑manual collaborative robots. You will implement and deploy VLA, VLM, and LLM‑based systems on both cloud and embedded robotic platforms, taking full ownership of the technical stack and driving the development roadmap for a dual‑use AI platform supporting industrial manufacturing use cases.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop robotic manipulation systems using UR5e arms, end effectors, and bi‑manual cobot configurations
Implement perception, planning, and control pipelines using VLA/VLM/LLM models
Integrate ML models into real‑time robotic systems running on cloud and embedded hardware
Develop and maintain robotic software using ROS/ROS2 and Universal Robots RTDE
Lead system‑level architecture decisions and technical roadmap ownership
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and AI teams to validate and deploy production‑ready robotic solutions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or a related technical field
Strong proficiency in C++ and Python
Hands‑on experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
Practical experience with ROS, ROS2, and Universal Robots RTDE
Direct experience with UR5e robotic arms, end effectors, and manipulation systems
Seniority level Mid‑Senior
