Join a forward-thinking engineering organization on a mission to modernize and elevate the development ecosystem. As a
Senior DevOps Tools Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in transforming how software teams build, test, secure, and deliver high-quality code. This is not a traditional “infrastructure-heavy” DevOps position — it is a
developer-enablement and tooling modernization role , focused on improving processes, driving automation, and enabling engineering teams to work faster and smarter.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable CI/CD pipelines, modernizing legacy tooling, influencing process change, and acting as a champion for efficiency and developer experience.
Modernize Development Tooling & Processes
Lead the transformation from
SVN/Subversion to Git-based repository platforms
(GitLab/GitHub/Bitbucket).
Redesign how developers interact with source control — not just switching tools, but
re‑imagining workflows and best practices .
Introduce and refine modern DevOps, DevSecOps, and automation practices across the engineering ecosystem.
Enhance CI/CD & Automation
Own the strategy, improvement, and scalability of CI/CD pipelines.
Improve build automation, packaging, artifact management, and release workflows.
Evaluate existing steps and automate manual or error‑prone processes to achieve efficiency gains.
Champion Developer Experience (DevEx)
Serve as a partner and advocate for software developers — removing friction and enabling productivity.
Build tools, frameworks, and processes that make development faster, safer, and more consistent.
Work at the forefront of new processes, pushing improvements and establishing clear standards.
Drive DevSecOps Practices
Integrate security into the pipeline and tooling ecosystem (SAST, DAST, code scanning, dependency checks, etc.).
Ensure that security is automated, proactive, and embedded throughout the lifecycle.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with engineering teams, tool providers, and leadership to define needs and implement scalable solutions.
Participate in defining new approaches to packaging and distributing software for downstream users.
Influence and guide teams through process shifts and modernization initiatives.
Technical Skills
Strong experience with
CI/CD pipelines , developer tooling, and automation.
Hands‑on proficiency with
Git and Git‑based ecosystem tools .
Experience migrating or modernizing tooling (e.g., SVN to Git) is a major advantage.
Solid understanding of DevOps or DevSecOps workflows, including:
Build automation
CI/CD orchestration
Security integration
Scripting or programming experience sufficient to build automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy, etc.).
Mindset & Professional Attributes
A passion for improving how software gets built and delivered.
Ability to look beyond “installing tools” — focusing instead on
process transformation and long‑term scalability .
Comfort operating in both hands‑on technical work and higher‑level process design.
Strong communication skills to guide teams through change and promote best practices.
Enjoys leading modernization initiatives and influencing technical direction.
Responsibilities
Lead the modernization of the development ecosystem, including migrating engineering teams from SVN/Subversion to Git‑based platforms, and redesigning workflows, branching strategies, and best practices.
Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines to improve build reliability, performance, automation, and visibility across the software lifecycle.
Implement DevSecOps practices, embedding security scanning, compliance checks, and automated validation directly into the CI/CD and tooling workflows.
Automate manual and repetitive tasks across build, package creation, testing, and deployment processes to improve speed and reduce errors.
Enhance the developer experience (DevEx) by removing friction, improving tooling usability, and enabling development teams to work more efficiently.
Partner with cross‑functional engineering teams to assess tooling needs, gather requirements, and collaboratively define and implement new processes.
Define and maintain standards for source control usage, repository management, branching strategies, coding workflows, and build/release practices.
Introduce and champion new tools, frameworks, and methodologies, ensuring engineering teams adopt modern DevOps and automation capabilities.
Support the creation of packaging, artifact, and build distribution processes for downstream systems and release teams.
Monitor and continuously improve development pipelines, identifying bottlenecks, analyzing performance, and implementing optimizations.
Act as a change agent by guiding teams through modernization initiatives and advocating for efficiency improvements.
Provide internal consulting and technical leadership for teammates, stakeholders, and engineering partners regarding DevOps best practices.
This role isn’t simply “standing up tools.” You will shape new development processes, improve efficiency, and introduce modern DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
You’ll have visibility into future initiatives, including packaging workflows, new automation strategies, and broader platform upgrades.
It’s an opportunity to own meaningful changes that significantly improve engineering velocity and satisfaction!
