Director, Commodity Management & NPI – Illinois
We are looking for a Director, Commodity Management & NPI to lead supplier strategy, cost management, and hardware readiness across critical components including SSDs, memory, and networking. This role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on operational execution, ensuring new product introductions (NPI) launch efficiently while maintaining optimal quality and availability. Accountabilities
Own and develop supply chain strategies across multiple commodities, focusing on SSDs, memory, and networking. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers, including roadmap reviews and NPI communications. Manage multiple NPI programs, coordinating timelines, cross‑functional teams, and operational execution to ensure product availability and quality. Collaborate with engineering and product management to align supplier trends, roadmaps, and cost models. Track supplier performance and develop KPIs to measure quality, delivery, and cost competitiveness. Drive cost optimization initiatives and implement processes that balance efficiency with agility. Communicate key supply chain and NPI activities across the organization, fostering alignment and transparency. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, or related disciplines. Deep domain expertise in data storage, SSDs, and memory markets. Proven ability to work in high‑growth or startup environments, implementing scalable but flexible processes. Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, working effectively with sales, finance, engineering, and product teams. Excellent organizational and project management abilities, capable of handling multiple initiatives simultaneously. Outstanding communication skills, able to convey complex supplier and technical information clearly at all organizational levels. Benefits
