Role Description This on-site, full-time role as an SUD (Substance Use Disorder) Counselor is located in Pacific Grove, CA. Responsibilities include conducting client intake assessments, creating individualized aftercare plans, facilitating group and individual counseling sessions, and maintaining accurate and confidential client records. The SUD Counselor will also provide support and guidance to clients on their journey toward recovery, collaborate with other team members, and ensure adherence to best practices in substance use disorder treatment.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge and experience in substance use disorder treatment, including addiction counseling and relapse prevention
Proficiency in conducting client assessments, developing treatment plans, and maintaining detailed and accurate records
Skills in facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, providing guidance and support in a professional and compassionate manner
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, supportive environment
Certification as an SUD Counselor or other relevant credentials (required)
Experience working in clinical or residential treatment settings is preferred
Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to ethical standards in counseling
Familiarity with evidence-based treatment methods in addiction recovery is an asset
