What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

Develop and implement strategies to advance the employer's federal policy agenda, focused on child welfare and mental health.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with Congressional staff and relevant stakeholders.

Produce a variety of written policy and advocacy materials tailored to diverse audiences.

Monitor and provide input on federal legislation and proposed rules affecting infants and toddlers.

Organize briefings, webinars, and other events to promote policy priorities and engage stakeholders.

What is Required (Qualifications):

Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant work experience, with Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of mental health and child welfare policy issues.

Proficiency in research and policy analysis, including evaluating complex documents and policy proposals.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with various audiences.

Bachelor's degree in public policy, social work, psychology, early childhood education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

Experience participating in coalition groups and building relationships with stakeholders.

Knowledge of integrated early childhood systems and prevention strategies related to poverty.

Proven ability to operationalize equity-centered practices in policy development.

Strong organizational and time management skills in handling multiple responsibilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
