Career Area Technology, Digital and Data

Job Summary Provide support & guidance for Cat Digital Electrification projects centered around site simulation, supply chain optimization, AI use cases and future electrification projects.

What You Will Do

Coordinates with development engineers to track and communicate design, development, support, and maintenance problems and solutions.

Identifies, documents, and reports design, reliability and maintenance problems and bugs. Gathers and consolidates feedback from customers and field staff.

Coordinates with developers & stakeholders to address and resolve problems, expand product usage, and define roadmaps.

Answers customer questions; provides guidance and support for product integration and infrastructure issues.

What You Will Have

Business Analysis: Extensive knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive experience of the decision‑making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Effective Communications: Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Software Change Request Management: Working knowledge of software change request management; ability to manage software product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.

AI: Working knowledge of how to bridge the gap between business needs and technical feasibility to deliver solutions.

Considerations For Top Candidates

Typically, 8+ years of professional experience and 5+ years as a Product Owner or related role using Agile methodology

Proven experience leading a technical team while simultaneously managing multiple projects

Experience working with developers in a Digital Commerce environment

Experience managing projects using Agile software tools such as Mingle, DevOps/VSTS, JIRA, Team Services, Rally

Knowledge of software change request management; ability to manage software product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.

Working knowledge of strategies, practices and tools for resolving software problems; ability to manage software problems in installed software products.

Extensive knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.

Working Knowledge within the A.I. space and where that can be integrated into solutions.

Knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools and techniques; ability to design, implement and evaluate acceptance tests for end‑users.

Demonstrated ability to empower teams

Knowledge of the software development lifecycle

Additional Information This position will have the option to be based out of our Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL or Denver, CO offices.

Summary Pay Range $110,520.00 - $179,640.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
