Job Description The Communications and Signaling team is seeking shift supervisors to support inspection, maintenance, and repair of our communications infrastructure. Shift Supervisors lead technicians to execute tasks efficiently and meet Metro quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership and communication skills with experience mentoring peers. Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree or vocational/technical school degree in Engineering or Electronics.
Four years of communications, signaling, or electronics maintenance experience.
A valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Electronics.
Medical Requirements Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.
Summary Responsible for supervising installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of the communications and signaling systems of the Authority within established guidelines.
Essential Functions
Supervise shift-based maintenance personnel performing maintenance, inspection, and repair of assigned equipment.
Schedule work assignments according to priority and monitor progress toward satisfactory completion.
Implement Communications and Signaling Maintenance Control Plan and operating and safety rules and regulations.
Monitor the Maintenance Management System (e.g., MAXIMO) for work completion and open work orders.
Respond to incidents and provide updates to management.
Monitor employee performance and provide appropriate correction as needed.
Provide input on department improvement initiatives.
Requisition materials, parts and tools, and ensure their proper use and care.
Operate an Authority vehicle as required.
Maintain and promote awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures; promote a positive safety culture and encourage reporting of safety concerns consistent with Agency Safety Plan, regulatory requirements, Safety Management System, and just culture principles.

Skills and/or behavioral assessment
Personal interview
Verification of education and experience (including certifications and licenses)
