Project Developer (Energy Engineer / Energy Efficiency)
Currently supporting a turnkey engineering firm, skilled in the design, and construction of solutions that reduce energy costs, modernize infrastructure, and support long-term sustainability goals (for both the Private and Public sector).
They are seeking a
Project Developer , who bridges the technical gap between Sales and Engineering, in the development of projects and programs to achieve energy goals and savings from early feasibility and audits through design, pricing, and handoff to construction. Projects will cover energy efficiency across building systems, through energy efficiency, smart buildings, EV infrastructure, and clean energy.
This role is offered remote, in California but the person must be located in
NorCal , for local projects.
The successful candidate will come with significant experience speaking the language of
Energy Performance Contracts
and serve as a client-facing technical expert to customers pursuing energy efficiency goals.
Responsibilities
Lead or oversee energy audits, energy modeling, measurement & verification, and retro-commissioning studies
Perform energy savings calculations, feasibility analyses, and payback modeling
Develop large and complex energy efficiency projects within the existing and new building space
Support sales teams with technical expertise during customer meetings and presentations
Utilize engineering experience to put together preliminary design, scope and estimation for projects, including budgets, schedules, and cash flow analyses
Prepare technical reports and documentation (e.g., preliminary and investment-grade analyses)
Lead estimating efforts and negotiate subcontractor pricing
Participate in industry events, conferences, and client engagements
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering or construction discipline)
Experience as an Energy Engineer; carrying out energy audits, providing energy calculations and identifying opportunities for energy savings
Experience working with Public and / or MUSH customer verticals (Municipalities, Universities, Schools and Hospitals)
Experience working with energy performance contracts or energy focused design build projects
Base pay range: $130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr.
Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level.
Employment type: Full‑time.
