We’re looking for an experienced leader to drive revenue, margin and operating profit for the Americas Medical Division. The role is fully remote and reports to the VP/GM Americas Sales & Service.
About the Role As Sr. Director Sales – Medical, you will lead a field sales team, support Independent Manufacturing Representatives (IMRs), and collaborate with manufacturers selling Leica products. You will be part of the Americas Commercial Leadership Team and the Medical Business Unit management team.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the strategic business plan to improve strategic and financial performance.
Challenge and develop the business capabilities of teams to promote continuous improvement and excellence.
Achieve annual revenue and profitability plans for the business unit.
Optimize the sales organization for partnership, accountability and performance.
Lead the interface between Marketing, Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, and Finance.
Lead, develop, and train a team of professionals who complement each other’s skills and strive for continuous improvement.
Ensure 100% compliance with DHR and Leica compliance and integrity guidelines.
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of increasing responsibility in medical, clinical diagnostic, software markets or related scientific products, including sales management, product/marketing management, customer service, strategic planning, new business development, or market research. Preference for experience in Neurosurgery, Microsurgery, and Ophthalmic surgery.
5+ year record of growing top line and bottom line of a related business.
Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking/planning and tactical implementation in clinical diagnostic/medical markets.
Successful track record of effective communication and teamwork in a multicultural, global organization, with results in new product development, sales/profitability increases, and market share gains.
Demonstrated capability in leading, selecting, developing, training, and managing sales and marketing leaders.
Experienced with CRM tools such as SFDC for disciplined funnel management and GTM strategy implementation.
A four‑year scientific degree is required; an MBA preferred. Medical and/or Microscopy experience beneficial but not required.
Travel & Physical Requirements
Travel 50‑75% of the time, primarily domestic daily, with occasional overnight travel.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Benefits & Compensation The salary range for this role is $200,000‑$275,000, with potential for bonus and incentive pay. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan. Remote work arrangement is available.
