Overview of the Role The branch manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the branch, ensuring that the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service and growth plans while also providing exceptional service to our members.

Branch Manager Responsibilities

Direct, develop, motivate, and discipline branch personnel as well as administer performance evaluations and recommend appropriate personnel actions.

Monitor branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensure that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.

Represent the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organization(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.

Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment that emphasizes teamwork and high levels of service.

Promote the credit union’s products and services to new and existing members, identifying opportunities to improve member’s financial situation.

Identify business opportunities and create strategies to attract new members and retain current ones.

Maintain communication with main office; prepare and submit standard reports and attend scheduled management meetings.

Monitor all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as requested to ensure an efficient workflow.

Branch Manager Expectations

Reach sales and service goals as assigned.

Provide superior member service at all times.

Display professional sales and service skills, proper phone etiquette, ensure member confidentiality and go above-and-beyond to make the member experience at GPO of the highest quality.

Maintain and develop a qualified staff to meet member needs. As part of this, help your entire staff achieve their own expectations.

Bring positivity and enthusiasm to work every day.

Adapt a work ethic that is aligned with GPO's mission and keeps member service at the forefront.

Hold yourself accountable for the promises you make and the actions you take.

Complete training as assigned and continually search for opportunities to enhance one's ability and knowledge.

Help create a positive image of your branch by playing an active role in your branch community.

Branch Manager Qualifications

A two-year degree in a related field plus three years of management experience OR

High school diploma and five years of management experience in lieu of a degree.

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.

Must possess a notary public license.

Must be eligible for MLO licensing.

Determined and motivated individual with a positive attitude.

Branch Manager Supervisory Responsibility

Responsible for overseeing branch employees to ensure efficient operations; the delivery of quality member service and that employees meet own expectations.

Branch Manager Physical Demands

Sitting for prolonged periods of time

Frequent computer usage and screen time

Frequent typing and usage of fine motor skills

Must be able to speak with clarity and listen effectively on a regular basis.
