Job Summary:
The Cloud Data Architect will lead the design, implementation, and governance of the Google Cloud BigQuery platform, delivering scalable, secure, and cost‑effective analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement a scalable, cost‑optimized BigQuery architecture leveraging advanced features such as partitioning, clustering, and materialized views.
Develop robust enterprise data models and semantic layers to support analytics, reporting, business intelligence, marketing campaign optimization, and advanced data science use cases.
Work as a trusted advisor to executives and business teams, translating business objectives into technical solutions that drive measurable outcomes.
Define and implement master and reference data strategies to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and governance across multiple domains.
Lead data quality automation initiatives by creating business transformation rules, automated checks, and reconciliation frameworks.
Collaborate with QA teams to review and validate test cases, ensuring full coverage of business use cases and requirements.
Coordinate system dependencies, validate integration points, and support seamless system deployment activities.
Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and production rollouts, managing signoffs and contingency plans.
Establish and enforce data governance standards including IAM roles, encryption policies, metadata management, and lineage tracking.
Continuously monitor BigQuery usage and performance metrics to recommend and implement query optimization and storage lifecycle strategies.
Qualifications
10–16 years of experience designing enterprise data architecture on Google Cloud.
Cloud Professional Data Engineer (GCP) certification.
Strong knowledge of BigQuery, SQL, data modeling, and data governance.
Experience with data quality automation, testing, and deployment processes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
