LOCATIONS The role will hub at the New York City 57th & Lexington, Harold Square, Brooklyn, and Melville branches.

SUMMARY The Banking Center Assistant Manager manages the branch in the absence of the Banking Center Manager and reinforces the Bank's vision through personal modeling of expected sales, service, operations and compliance behaviors. The role is the primary liaison with corporate divisions to insure the branch's adherence to regulations, policies and procedures and to provide a timely and accurate response to requests for information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as the primary contact and liaison for corporate divisions and departments such as Compliance, Operations, Training, Finance, etc. to ensure branch employees respond to initiatives and requests for information and ensures branch work is verified for accuracy and legibility before it is submitted for processing.

Ensures all branch employees' day-to-day adherence to regulations, policies and procedures while maintaining the highest level of customer service and the branch's operational integrity.

Ensures all branch employees timely complete, understand and apply regulatory compliance and corporate training topics and responsibilities.

Manages and coaches branch employees on adherence to sales, service, compliance and operational standards and maintains an understanding of all current financial products, regulations, policies and procedures.

Interviews and hires candidates for branch positions; creates and delivers staff performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.

Ensures the meets and exceeds day-to-day established sales and revenue goals and credit quality standards through personal production and activity management while minimizing expenses and meets personal production goals for credit, deposit and referral categories.

Recognizes, motivates and coaches employees' performance toward individual, branch and goals including consumer credit, non-credit products, deposit growth and non-interest income and expense, referral goals for commercial, residential credit, insurance and alternative investment goals.

Manages the day-to-day activities of the branch and shares responsibility and accountability with the Banking Center Manager for budget, personnel and goal achievement.

Manages service levels against customer expectations within budget and manages difficult situations with customers.

Approves specific check amounts, wire transfers, cashier's checks, uncollected funds and insufficient funds based on credit authority limitations preset by management.

Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e., Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).

Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.

Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises function, projects or services and/or one or more employees, as applicable.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance coaching; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION HS Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree preferred or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

4-6 Years progressive banking (branch) experience that includes previous supervisory experience, with demonstrated leadership capabilities required.

Strong branch operations experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

May be required to obtain Series 6, Current Florida Life, Health and Variable Annuity Licenses.
