Field Sales Representative - Laboratory Mettler-Toledo International, Inc.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities Mettler Toledo's laboratory division is hiring a Lab Field Sales Specialist in Chicago, IL, reporting to the Area Business Manager. The role focuses on selling balances, pH, moisture analyzers, software, and services.

Essential Responsibilities

Achievement of assigned sales targets and business development objectives.

Develop and maintain an active pipeline of designated weighing and software solutions; coordinate closely with product champions.

Develop and maintain a dynamic pipeline of sales opportunities within the assigned territory.

Coordinate with MT representatives, instrument reps, and field service groups to generate new leads, opportunities, and customer proposals, leveraging the full METTLER TOLEDO lab product and service portfolio.

Work with field personnel to spearhead strategic campaigns creating high‑value relationships between customers and METTLER TOLEDO.

Perform technical presentations and demonstrations involving weighing system solutions and/or software to existing or potential customers, primarily in person or via virtual technologies.

Convey METTLER TOLEDO's total solution approach, including service, validation, training, and other professional services to accompany product or software placement.

Post‑sale responsibilities include coordinating system installation and training to ensure successful customer start.

Manage time, territory, and expenses within budget while maximizing productivity.

Use MT‑provided CRM, communication, and other technology and territory development tools in accordance with corporate requirements and frequency.

What You Need to Succeed

Three to five years of related sales experience in scientific instruments or capital equipment.

Experience handling accounts and relationships with a distribution network.

Experience training and developing the skills of others.

Trusted, inspiring leader with excellent customer problem analysis, product knowledge, and differentiation skills.

Disciplined CRM maintenance and weekly reporting.

A BS or BA in natural sciences preferred, or business/marketing with emphasis on chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, biochemistry, or neuroscience.

Excellent relationship‑building skills.

Prior knowledge of the analytical instrument sales market is a plus.

Experience using SAP’s CRM system is a plus.
