Posted: 10/15/2025 – Open until filled. Desired start date: 08/16/2026. Full time, 37.5 hours per week, 9‑month basis, commensurate salary. Location: Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina.

Advertised Job Summary The School of Information Science (iSchool) at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a full‑time professional‑track faculty position. The successful candidate will teach courses related to user experience research and design; the social and ethical dimensions of AI and data analytics; cybersecurity in organizational contexts; information integrity and media literacy; and the role of data and information in shaping policy, organizations, and society.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses, with opportunities to teach at the graduate level, delivered in face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid formats.
Participate in shared governance and service activities.
Required Education and Experience
Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Information Science or a closely related field by the start date of employment.
Minimum of two years of professional or academic experience in a related area such as information integrity, user experience research/design, data ethics and policy, organizational communication, or the social impacts of AI and cybersecurity.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience is not required, but desired.
