Job Overview We are seeking a Lead Project Scheduler to join the Engineering & Construction Project Scheduling Team, supporting the full lifecycle of complex energy and infrastructure projects. This role provides leadership across project scheduling, power system operations, and regulatory compliance while serving as a key contributor to project execution, operational reliability, and organizational performance. Projects span multiple technologies, including Wind, Solar, Energy Storage, Transmission Lines, Substations, Pipelines, and Combined Cycle generation. The role works closely with project originators, engineers, construction managers, system operators, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, maintenance, and tracking of detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
Manage baseline and progress schedules, including monthly reporting and variance analysis
Perform advanced schedule analysis including CPM, resource and cost loading, manpower analysis, and schedule impact assessments
Support recovery planning and schedule optimization initiatives
Lead schedule review meetings and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs
Provide clear, concise reporting of project status, risks, and variances to management
Act as a central scheduling authority across multiple projects and technologies
Lead and mentor a team of schedulers, fostering collaboration across engineering, construction, and operations
Drive continuous improvement in planning, scheduling, and execution processes
Schedule and dispatch generation resources to balance load and generation in real time
Ensure compliance with NERC reliability standards and regulatory requirements
Coordinate committing, decommitting, and outage planning with system operators and business units
Evaluate and approve OASIS requests and energy tags
Perform energy accounting and manage dynamic schedules
Support next‑day generation planning and provide system operator coverage as needed
Ensure rapid recovery from generation loss events and support emergency response
Lead root cause analysis and operational reviews to reduce risk and improve performance
Plan, schedule, and track work activities to ensure operational, maintenance, and regulatory compliance
Develop work orders and coordinate across operations, maintenance, and project teams
Participate in event response, risk management, and compliance audits
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or related field (required)
15+ years of experience in advanced project scheduling, power system operations, or large‑scale project coordination
5+ years of hands‑on experience using Primavera P6 for complex scheduling
Professional certification preferred (Power Coordinator Certification strongly preferred)
Extensive experience with NERC‑certified operations, outage planning, and regulatory compliance
Proven leadership experience managing teams and coordinating across diverse stakeholders
Strong leadership, team‑building, and influencing skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Highly analytical with strong problem‑solving, prioritization, and process management skills
Ability to evaluate external inputs, validate data, and make informed decisions under pressure
