We’re seeking an experienced
Solar Program Manager
to lead a multi-year, multi-site solar portfolio delivering rooftop and carport PV projects for a large public school district in Southern California. This senior leadership role is responsible for end‑to‑end program execution—from design through construction, commissioning, and close‑out—while building and leading a high‑performing project management team.
This role combines
hands‑on project ownership
with
people leadership , serving as the primary client interface and escalation point while ensuring excellence in safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction.
This role is remote, with a 50% on‑site expectation in LA County.
Pay Range Base pay: $170,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Own delivery of a large, multi‑site solar program (scope, schedule, budget, safety, and client satisfaction)
Serve as senior point of contact with public‑sector stakeholders and district leadership
Lead and mentor Project Managers; build scalable delivery teams and processes
Oversee solar design, permitting, interconnection, DSA review, and construction execution
Proactively manage program‑wide risks, dependencies, and performance metrics
Ensure timely revenue recognition, billing, and collections
Own P&L for assigned projects and support portfolio‑level financial performance
Collaborate with development and engineering teams on budgets, schedules, and value engineering
Negotiate contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements
Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best‑practice sharing
Qualifications Required
10+ years managing complex construction portfolios or multi‑site programs ($10M+)
10+ years of solar PV project management experience
Proven leadership in public‑sector or institutional projects (K‑12, municipal, or similar)
Strong understanding of permitting, interconnection, and construction execution in California
Experience with the DSA and LAUSD
Ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver under pressure
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
PMP certification
Deep knowledge of NEC code and electrical systems
