Linux Administrator / HPC Systems Engineer Location
Scottsdale AZ (Onsite) Job Description
Seeking an experienced Linux Administrator with strong expertise in managing large-scale HPC / EDA environments, storage systems, and cloud integrations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with operations teams performing Linux upgrades and implementing modernized infrastructure solutions across global sites. Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Linux-based HPC / EDA environments across multiple global sites. Perform OS lifecycle management including upgrades (e.g. RHEL8 to RHEL9) and patch cycle modernization. Manage and optimize large-scale storage systems (NetApp Kompromise Qumulo) for high-performance workloads. Support and troubleshoot VDI environments (ETX) and EDA application servers. Collaborate with CAD and engineering teams to consolidate and modernize design centers, including data migration and infrastructure refresh. Implement and manage virtualization technologies (KVM clusters) and workload schedulers (LSF). Deploy and manage cloud-based HPC environments using Azure CycleCloud for cost optimization and scalability. Lead and mentor operations teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and operational excellence. Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and ensure high availability for mission-critical workloads. Required Skills & Experience
Strong proficiency in Linux administration (RHEL 7 / 8 / 9). Experience with HPC / EDA environments and workload management tools (LSF). Hands-on experience with enterprise storage solutions (NetApp Qumulo). Knowledge of virtualization technologies (KVM) and VDI solutions. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and HPC orchestration tools. Proven ability to lead teams and manage large-scale infrastructure projects. Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimization skills. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in semiconductor or EDA environments. Knowledge of configuration management and automation tools. Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ansible) for automation and system management. NetApp storage administration expertise. NFS, LDAP experience. Key Skills
