Physician Assistant - Inpatient Vascular Surgery

Location: Valhalla, NY
Shift: 7 days, 12 hours
– Primary schedule: 3‑4 days per week; Flexible shifts available.
Summary: The Vascular Surgery Service at Westchester Medical Center seeks a caring and motivated physician assistant (PA) to join a fast‑paced inpatient team. As a key member, the PA will provide comprehensive care for advanced vascular conditions, from acute admissions to postoperative recovery, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
Pre‑ and postoperative patient management, including wound checks, line and drain care, and vascular access monitoring.
Daily inpatient rounding with the vascular surgery team, presenting patient updates, participating in clinical decision‑making, and translating decisions into outcome‑oriented actions.
Ordering, interpreting, and following up on diagnostic studies and laboratory results.
Educating patients and families about disease progression, surgical recovery, medications, and follow‑up care.
Assisting in operative cases as opportunities arise.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Board‑certified physician assistant eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license.
Prior vascular surgery experience is ideal; new graduates with strong interest and commitment to vascular surgery are encouraged to apply.
Excellent communication skills and teamwork capabilities.
Willingness to grow in a dynamic inpatient‑focused program.
Active BLS/ACLS certifications.
