What You Will Do:
As a
Manufacturing Engineer
, you will apply your technical and analytical skills to analyze, develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing and production methods, tooling, equipment, operational sequences, and controlling documentation for new and existing products. You will identify and characterize productivity and cost savings opportunities and cross-functionally scope, plan, and implement solutions and associated deliverables. You will contribute to failure analysis, root cause-corrective action, and material review. Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify and characterize cost savings and productivity opportunities; scope project resources and timelines to determine, plan, and implement solutions
- Plan and improve production methods including production flow, tooling, manufacturing methods, documentation, and equipment
- Propose, plan, and implement process improvements through the application of automation and new technologies, at times, identifying and working with vendors to communicate requirements and develop solutions
- Determine and develop the methods, operational sequences, equipment, layouts and tooling for the fabrication of parts and the manufacturing of components, subassemblies and final products
- Assess the integrity of and appropriately modify existing manufacturing systems, processes, and controlling documentation to drive quality, efficiency, and compliance
- Provide training and sustaining support to production personnel
- Advise design engineering of current and developing production capabilities to improve producibility, mitigate obsolescence, and contribute to design development
- Assist in the failure analyses, dispositions, and root cause-corrective actions for rejected parts, customer returns, and process failures
- Determine the feasibility and cost effectiveness of reworking parts and provide instructions and support to perform rework
- Participate in PFMEA (Product Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) team and take actions to mitigate identified risks
- Estimate manufacturing costs and determine time standards
- Balance production support, cost savings initiatives, and business priorities with a focus on risk and impact
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged.
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- Minimum 3-7 years relevant experience
- Proven problem-solving expertise through the application of various methodologies
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and be empowered to own challenges and solutions
- Self-starter and highly accountable with a hands-on and detail-oriented approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills who is able to effectively present information and respond to feedback at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work on-site
- Creo, SolidWorks, or other CAD program experience
- Experience in aerospace or another highly regulated industry is a plus
- Project management experience is a plus
Salary Range:
Please note the typical hiring range is $86,250 - $143,750 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
