Interim Vice President of Student Services
Under the general direction of the President, the Interim Vice President of Student Services serves as the Chief Student Services Officer of the college responsible for the overall design, organization, delivery, supervision, evaluation, and fiscal management of a comprehensive student development program charged with promoting and delivering programs and services that enhance student and staff success, achievement, and retention.
The Vice President of Student Services has oversight for the following functional areas: Admission & Records, Articulation, Student Equity Plan, Counseling, Educational Assistance Center (EAC), Transfer/Career Center, Extended Opportunities Programs & Services (EOPS), Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE), CalWORKS, Financial Aid, Student Health Center, Veterans Affairs, and Student Activities.
The position is temporary, located at Oxnard College, and will begin Spring 2026 and remain in effect until the position is permanently filled.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, direct, and evaluate student programs and services to support student college life.
Develop, direct, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the services, personnel, and operations of the division, ensuring compliance with Education Code, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, district policies, and all contractual agreements.
Assist in recruitment, selection, and development of classified and academic personnel, evaluate staff performance, plan staffing requirements, and provide recommendations in accordance with EEO principles.
Implement sound fiscal planning, develop and manage the unit budget, and supervise the preparation and submission of the budget.
Develop and direct student counseling services, preparing schedules and assigning staff.
Coordinate unit advisory committees and liaise with community representatives in planning and developing unit services.
Prepare timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports for federal, state, district, and college departments.
Promote and apply computer technology to support student development programs.
Administer student discipline and due process.
Coordinate and supervise the college’s annual graduation ceremony, honors, and scholarships.
Serve on management councils and other college and district committees; act as President in the absence of the President as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a master’s degree.
One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment.
All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.
