About the Team Our Cloud Reliability team within the Infrastructure Engineering team is the foundation on which our services are built, directly influencing our customer experience and engineering velocity. We focus on enabling developers through self‑service, automation, high reliability, and scalability.
About the Role As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you will automate and scale the systems and services that power our streaming platform. You will lead projects related to infrastructure automation, scaling, CI/CD, and best‑practice adoption, working closely with development and delivery teams to deliver high‑quality software and architecture.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Cloud Reliability – Infrastructure Engineering and will be based in Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco, CA on a hybrid schedule (in‑office 3 days a week).
Responsibilities
Drive automation and scaling of high‑availability systems.
Lead and mentor engineers across cross‑functional teams.
Collaborate with developers to understand needs and embed best practices.
Build tools and systems that support services and facilitate software delivery.
Ensure infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and governance are followed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, IT, or related field.
12+ years of experience in DevOps and infrastructure management.
8+ years in production environments combining DevOps and software engineering.
5+ years managing containerized infrastructure (ECS or Kubernetes).
Proficiency in automation, reusable patterns, and tools.
Expertise in GitOps, CI/CD tools (GHA, CodeDeploy) and CI/CD‑based automation.
5+ years with AWS services (ECS, S3, SQS, Lambda, etc.) and IaC (Pulumi, Terraform).
Programming in TypeScript; knowledge of Go or Python preferred.
Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases.
Guiding engineers on production best practices and knowledge sharing.
Design/deployment experience with data‑sovranity requirements (e.g., GDPR).
Collaboration on tools that facilitate high‑quality delivery.
Pluses
Knowledge of streaming video delivery, video encoding workflows, and large‑scale video architecture.
Familiarity with big‑data and payments domains.
Understanding of security concepts – cryptography, authentication, authorization, protocols.
Experience with Vault, Packer or other HashiCorp tools.
Knowledge of or experience with GCP.
