BE/BC Infectious Disease Physician – Bowling Green, KY (Near Nashville, TN)
Join an established infectious disease practice employed by Med Center Health, part of a full-service integrated healthcare system across South Central Kentucky. The team includes 3 ID physicians and 1 nurse practitioner delivering comprehensive infection care in the main hospital, a long‑term acute care (LTAC) unit, and five satellite rural facilities.
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient consultation services at Bowling Green Medical Center and Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital.
Offer telehealth services to satellite rural facilities.
Deliver outpatient services through the infectious disease and travel medicine clinic located within walking distance of the main hospital.
Support the Kentucky-based residency program for internal medicine and other disciplines, as well as Western Kentucky University medical students.
Participate in the Antibiotic Stewardship Program, Infection Prevention & Control Program, and Sepsis Committee.
Participate in a diverse, inclusive workforce that values teamwork, excellence, and compassion.
Schedule
Weekly rotating schedule: 1:4 call ratio.
Week 1: 7 days on‑call covering inpatient service (pager after hours).
Week 2: 3 days in clinic; recover 2 days from weekend service.
Week 3: 5 days bridge covering inpatient service with NP support; 2 days of morning clinic and inpatient telehealth for satellite hospitals.
Week 4: 5 days bridge covering clinic and outpatient telehealth for satellite hospitals.

Location: Bowling Green, KY (within walking distance of the main hospital).

Average inpatient census: 35; average weekly clinic appointments: 15.
Time split: Inpatient 60 %, Outpatient 40 %.
Advanced Practice Provider (NP) support provided.
