SAP RAP Consultant
Location Washington, DC
Contract 6+ Months Contract (no remote work)
Role Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced SAP ECC / S/4HANA RAP Technical Developer (Level 3) for an onsite engagement. This role is part of our finance ERP program and requires a senior developer who can deliver robust, upgrade‑safe solutions aligned with SAP architecture and modern ABAP practices. The program involves a multi‑stage transformation from SAP ECC on‑premise to SAP S/4HANA on‑premise and includes:
Stage 1: Adapt existing ABAP code for compatibility with S/4HANA’s simplified data structures and programming model.
Stage 2: Re‑engineer selected components using clean‑core principles and cloud‑ready ABAP (strict ABAP) within S/4HANA—leveraging RAP, CDS, and AMDP.
Stage 3: Shift selected components to SAP BTP using side‑by‑side extensibility where it provides architectural or scalability benefits.
Act as a techno‑functional lead, interpreting functional requirements, participating in fit‑gap assessments, and independently delivering scalable, upgrade‑safe solutions.
Lead end‑to‑end responsibilities from technical design, performance optimization, security adaptation, to clean extensibility.
Collaborate across business and IT teams, and demonstrate coding skills through a hands‑on coding assessment.
Minimum Requirements
15+ years of SAP ABAP development in ECC.
7+ years of S/4HANA development experience.
