Description GRS North America Programs seeks an Executive Underwriter to oversee niche specialty program business, collaborating with underwriting, actuarial, finance, claims, product, legal and marketing teams. The candidate will manage portfolio of program administrators, develop and underwrite profitable business, and drive process excellence.
Responsibilities
Manage portfolio of Program Administrators and maintain strong market relationships.
Develop and underwrite profitable specialty program business.
Provide input into business and marketing planning, supply data‑driven insights.
Participate in cross‑department projects to advance underwriting excellence.
Mentor and coach underwriters and account analysts.
Document files with clear decision logic and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Degree in Business or equivalent.
7‑10+ years underwriting or related experience.
CPCU or other professional insurance designation preferred.
Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills.
Deep understanding of complex underwriting issues and ability to implement processes.
Track record of underwriting profitable business.
