Psychiatrist 1 or 2 (Spanish Language) (NY HELPS), Washington Heights Psychiatric Unit - Inwood Clinic, P27482
Washington Heights Psychiatric Unit, an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists to serve as the Clinical Leads of multidisciplinary treatment teams.
The selected candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary, mission-driven team at the Inwood Clinic, a state-operated community mental health clinic at Washington Heights Community Service providing comprehensive community-based mental health service for adults with serious mental illness who live in or near Northern Manhattan.
Duties Description Duties will include but are not limited to: conducting psychiatric evaluations; providing medication management and education regarding diagnosis and medication options; and supervising psychiatry residents and/or medical students to help support our mission of providing culturally responsive, person-centered, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based treatment of the highest quality to those we serve.
Base pay range $270,356.00/yr - $283,577.00/yr
Minimum Qualifications
Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and have completion of a training program in psychiatry or certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
The selected candidate will be tested for proficiency in Spanish and must pass at Level 3 proficiency.
