Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

About the Role The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the Process Engineering team to ensure robust, efficient, and scalable manufacturing processes across all Rocket EMS facilities. This role oversees documentation, process development, capacity planning, DFM/DFT activities, and continuous improvement efforts, collaborating closely with production, quality, and offsite partners. The Engineering Manager drives operational excellence through data-driven decision-making, strong revision control practices, and proactive leadership.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management

Lead, manage, and mentor the Process Engineering team; track performance using KPIs and measurable objectives.

Manage disciplinary actions when necessary, in alignment with company policies.

Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration through regular meetings and brainstorming sessions.

Manufacturing Process Development

Review all manufacturing documentation and work with offsite partners to ensure MPI packages, tooling, and programs are complete and accurate at release.

Ensure all labor certifications, tooling qualifications, machine program verification, and process controls follow strict revision control standards.

Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes that enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput.

Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from initial concept through startup, validation, and certification.

Establish effective and efficient work sequences for production teams.

Devise innovative solutions to existing process and production challenges.

Establish and maintain accurate route times and lead times for all manufacturing facilities.

Support capacity planning efforts to ensure resources meet current and future production demands.

Drive key process improvements on repeat orders using system data, quality metrics, and production feedback, updating revisions when applicable.

Collaborate on risk assessments for new product introductions (NPI) and provide DFM/DFT recommendations.

Develop best practices, routines, and standardized work that improve production rates, yield, and quality of output.

Manage cost and time constraints across assigned projects and process activities.

Education & Experience

BS in Engineering

or

10+ years of engineering, design, or quality control experience in EMS manufacturing.

Proven experience in process engineering, with strong familiarity with SMT, thru‑hole, AOI/AXI, and related electronics manufacturing processes.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong technical knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and industry standards.

Proficient in process engineering software, documentation systems, and manufacturing analysis tools.

Solid understanding of DFM/DFT principles and risk‑assessment methodologies.

Familiarity with applicable health, safety, and ESD regulations.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and facilities.
