Faculty position responsible to the Chairman, Department of Urology General Duties:
Provides clinical expertise in patient care management with emphasis in Urologic cancers. Special interest in prostate cancer. Practice primarily at MDACC Texas Medical Center with secondary locations at MDACC Northwest Surgery Center and future Houston area centers. Provides teaching environment for fellows, residents, and students. Offers expertise in clinical and/or translational research. Responsibilities
I. Administration: Serve on institutional committees and attend meetings, including travel. Listen to deliberations, provide verbal feedback and review documents related to committee functions. II. Patient Care: Provide state‑of‑the‑art urologic oncology surgery with focus on prostate cancer. III. Education / Teaching: Provide a balanced and integrated educational program in urologic oncology principles and techniques. Participate in division/department teaching and continuing education conferences. IV. Research: Actively engage in or facilitate clinical research and scholarly activity. Develop clinical research programs aligned with department goals. Instruct research support personnel in protocol implementation. V. Service: Represent the Department of Urology locally, regionally and nationally; may travel outside Houston. Participate in community tumor boards and disease‑specific conferences. Represent MD Anderson at community events, educational forums, and with referring physician groups. Additional Clinical Responsibilities: Perform complete history and physical exams and invasive procedures. Maintain a consultative practice for patients referred to MD Anderson. Provide physician staffing consistent with peers of similar training. Review and approve coding and charge documents within 5 days. Complete patient documentation timely; dictate clear and concise reports. Correspond with physicians in writing or telephone regarding patient care. Stay current with continuing education conferences in specialty. Request appropriate patient consultations. Serve as a role model for faculty, fellows, residents, and students. Provide peer review of faculty clinical practice. Education & Credentials
Education: MD or DO from an approved medical school. Successful completion of a fellowship in urologic oncology from an SUO‑approved program. License / Certification: Licensed to practice medicine in Texas. Current CPR, BCLS, or ACLS certification. Board certified in Urology or progressing toward certification. Experience
