Overview
The Ward Family Heart Center at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is seeking an assistant or associate professor level pediatric cardiologist to join our team at the CMKC multi‑specialty clinic in Wichita, KS.
You will work with an established group of 28 cardiologists, 3 CV surgeons, 30 APNs, and a dedicated team of sonographers and nursing staff.
The role has minimal inpatient duties and will require monthly travel to support outreach clinics in central and western Kansas.
Experience or interest in outpatient cardiology and echocardiography is required, and there are opportunities to develop a Fetal Echocardiography program.
Responsibilities • Provide high‑quality outpatient pediatric cardiology care and echocardiography • Travel monthly to support outreach clinics • Teach medical students and residents (faculty appointment available at the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita campus) • Participate in program development, including potential fetal echocardiography services • Collaborate with a multi‑specialty team in Electrophysiology, Cardiac Transplantation/Heart Failure, Interventional Cardiology, and Advanced Cardiac Imaging.
Qualifications
Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Pediatric Cardiology
Strong communication and teaching skills
Interest or experience in outpatient cardiology, echocardiography, or fetal echo
