Role Overview
NorthStar is seeking an Anesthesiologist to join our team at Effingham Hospital. The position is 5 days/week, no nights, no call, no weekends, no holidays. This is a surgery center style job at a small critical access hospital with 2 ORs. Primary responsibilities include medical direction and performing own cases 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
Provide anesthesia care for a variety of cases including bread & butter, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and ophthalmologic procedures.
Perform block sedation and other regional anesthesia techniques as required.
Assist in medical direction and protocol development.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and safety audits.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate and doctorate in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine with current board certification in anesthesia.
Board certification and maintained medical licensure in the State of Georgia.
Expected block proficiency required for listed case types.
Strong communication, teamwork, and patient safety skills.
