Responsibilities
Design next‑generation network infrastructure and services for layers 1–3, collaborating with Product Management and NSE teams.
Lead proof‑of‑concept testing of optical, switching, and transport technology options from multiple vendors.
Provide architecture guidance, configuration guides, and product validation for NSE and Software Engineering personnel.
Develop test plans and strategies to ensure architectural concepts and features meet requirements, working with Network Engineering, System Integration, and Testing teams.
Evaluate deployment readiness with Global Network Engineering and NSE teams.
Translate platform vendor roadmaps into solutions, influencing vendor roadmaps to meet Equinix‑specific needs.
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related field (preferred).
Hands‑on knowledge of network automation techniques and experience writing automation tests.
Python and SQL knowledge are a plus.
Extensive knowledge of service‑provider networking technologies and protocols (BGP, IS‑IS, MPLS, Segment Routing, RSVP, QoS, EVPN, VXLAN, traffic engineering).
Substantive knowledge of network disaggregation, including merchant silicon and ODM solutions.
